Unbend Privacy Policy
Effective Date: Aug 4, 2026
App Name: Unbend — listed on the App Store as “Unbend Flat Pattern Calculator”
Data Controller: LoopLab
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Unbend (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our App. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
Unbend is an offline calculator. Every bend and flat pattern calculation runs on your device, there are no accounts, and we never ask for your name, address, or phone number.
2. Information We Collect
- Your Calculations and Saved Jobs: The dimensions, angles, materials, K-factors, and saved jobs you enter stay on your device. They are not uploaded to us, and we cannot see them.
- Exported Files: DXF, PDF, CSV, and image exports are written on your device and shared only where you send them. They never pass through our servers.
- No Account: The App has no sign-up and no sign-in. Our analytics and crash tools identify an installation by a random identifier that contains no personal details.
- Purchase Data: When you buy the one-time unlock, the transaction is processed by Apple or Google and managed through RevenueCat. We receive only whether the unlock is active for your store account — never your payment card or billing details.
- Usage & Diagnostic Data: We collect anonymous product analytics (for example which shape was opened, that a calculation finished, which export format was used, whether a purchase succeeded or failed) and crash and performance reports containing device type, operating system version, and app version.
- Session Replays: Production builds may record anonymous replays of app screens so we can see where a layout or an interaction fails. What such a replay contains is what the App itself contains: dimensions, angles, and technical drawings. No field in the App asks for personal information.
- Update Checks: On launch the App asks our update service whether a newer version of its JavaScript bundle exists. That request carries the app version, platform, and the network information any web request carries, such as your IP address.
- Support Communications: If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address and message.
- No Advertising: The App shows no advertisements and contains no advertising SDK.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide and maintain the App’s functionality.
- To verify the one-time unlock and to restore it on request.
- To find crashes, fix bugs, and see which calculations and exports are worth improving.
- To deliver over-the-air updates and fixes.
- To respond to your support requests.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
- Performance of a Contract: To provide the features and the unlock you purchase.
- Consent: When you choose to contact support.
- Legitimate Interest: To ensure proper operation, security, and improvement of the App.
5. Data Sharing
We use trusted third-party services to operate the App: Apple and Google (app distribution and in-app purchases), RevenueCat (purchase validation), Sentry (crash and performance reporting), PostHog (product analytics and session replay), and our own update host. We do not sell or rent your data.
6. Data Retention
Your calculations and saved jobs remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. Analytics, replay, and diagnostic data are retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, and purchase status is retained for as long as the unlock is valid — a one-time purchase does not expire.
7. Security
We use standard security measures, including encrypted (HTTPS/SSL) connections, to protect data in transit. No system is completely secure, but we make every reasonable effort to safeguard your information.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. Contact us to request removal of such data.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to withdraw consent. Because the App has no account, the data we hold is not linked to your identity, so we may need details such as the approximate time of use to locate it. Your calculations and saved jobs are under your own control on the device. To exercise these rights, write to [email protected].
10. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy: Apple App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat, Sentry, and PostHog.
11. Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Updates will be posted in the App and on our website.
12. Contact
