One Cut Privacy Policy

Effective Date: Sep 27, 2026

App Name: One Cut

Data Controller: LoopLab

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how One Cut (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our App. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

  • Game Progress: Your scores, stages reached, daily streak, goals, boxes, looks, settings and language choice. This data is stored only on your device. We do not receive or keep a copy of it, and it is removed when you delete the App. Only the anonymous events described under Usage Analytics leave the device.
  • Anonymous Identifier: The App does not require an account. RevenueCat assigns your installation a random, anonymous identifier that links your purchases and your purchased shard balance to it. It does not contain your name, email, or any personal contact details.
  • Purchase Data: When you buy Remove Ads, the Blade Pack or a shard pack, the transaction is processed by Apple or Google and managed through RevenueCat. We receive what you own and your purchased shard balance, never your payment card or billing details.
  • Shard Spending and Game Clock: When you spend a purchased shard, the App sends the anonymous identifier and the amount to our server, which deducts it from your balance at RevenueCat. The daily challenge also asks our server for the current time so that everyone plays the same day. These requests carry no personal data. Like any web server, ours sees the IP address of each request; it is used only to limit abuse and is not stored.
  • Device Information: The App reads your device model, memory size and preferred languages to choose a performance level and a language. For that purpose it stays on the device. The device model and operating system version are also part of the usage events and crash reports described below.
  • Advertising Data: The App shows rewarded ads (only when you choose to watch one, for example to continue a run or to earn a free shard) and occasional interstitial ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier and technical information to deliver and measure ads. On iOS, personalised ads are shown only if you allow tracking when the system asks; otherwise ads are non-personalised. In the EEA and UK you are shown a consent form before any ad is requested. Remove Ads turns interstitial ads off; rewarded ads stay optional.
  • Usage Analytics: The App sends anonymous gameplay events to PostHog, hosted in the United States: for example that a run started or ended, the stage and score reached, which reward or item was chosen, and whether an ad or a purchase went through. Each event carries a random identifier created on your device, the app version, device model, operating system and language. It is not linked to your name, email or advertising identifier, and it is not used for advertising or tracking. The IP address of a request may be used to derive an approximate country; the address itself is not stored. You can turn this off at any time with the “share anonymous usage data” switch at the bottom of the in-app shop.
  • Session Recordings: For some sessions the App also sends PostHog low-resolution screenshots of its own screens, taken every few seconds, together with where you tapped, so that we can see where players get stuck. The screens show only the game and its menus; the App has no text fields and shows no personal data. Recordings carry the same random identifier, are not linked to you, and stop with the same “share anonymous usage data” switch.
  • Crash Reports: When the App, or the game inside it, crashes or hits an unexpected error, a report is sent to Sentry: the error, where in the code it happened, the app version, device model and operating system. Crash reports contain no personal data, and the IP address is not stored.
  • Reminders: If you allow notifications, the App schedules reminders on your device, for example when your daily streak is about to end. They are created on the device from your local progress; nothing is sent to a server to deliver them. You can turn them off in your device settings.
  • Support Communications: If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address and message.

3. How We Use Information

  • To provide the game and keep your progress on your device.
  • To process and verify purchases and your shard balance.
  • To give the daily challenge a trusted date.
  • To display advertisements.
  • To understand how the game is played and to fix problems, with anonymous usage analytics and crash reports.
  • To remind you about the daily challenge, if you allow it.
  • To respond to your support requests.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

  • Performance of a Contract: To provide the game and the purchases you request.
  • Consent: For personalised advertising, where the law requires it, and when you contact support.
  • Legitimate Interest: To ensure proper operation and security of the App, to prevent abuse, and to improve the game with anonymous usage analytics and crash reports. You can object to usage analytics at any time with the switch in the in-app shop.

5. Data Sharing

We use trusted third-party services to operate the App: Apple and Google (app distribution and in-app purchases), Google AdMob (advertising), RevenueCat (purchase management and the shard balance), PostHog (anonymous usage analytics), Sentry (crash reports), and our hosting provider (shard spending and the game clock). PostHog and Sentry process data in the United States under standard contractual safeguards. While usage analytics is on, RevenueCat also receives the same random identifier so that purchases can be counted in the analytics. We do not sell or rent your data.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Game progress lives on your device and never reaches our server. On Android it is included in your device's Google backup when backup is turned on, so it can come back after a reinstall; that copy is held by Google under your Google account and can be removed there. On iPhone and iPad deleting the App erases it and cannot be undone. Your purchases and purchased shard balance are kept by RevenueCat so that they come back after a reinstall. Our server keeps no record of your requests. To have the purchase record held under your anonymous identifier deleted, email us at [email protected]. Deleting it also removes any unspent purchased shards and does not refund past purchases. Usage events and crash reports are kept only as long as they are needed to analyse the game and are then deleted under PostHog's and Sentry's retention settings. Because they are not linked to you, turning off usage data in the shop is the way to stop them; it takes effect at once.

7. Security

We use standard security measures, including encrypted (HTTPS/SSL) connections, to protect your data in transit. No system is completely secure, but we make every reasonable effort to safeguard your information.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. Contact us to request removal of such data.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to withdraw consent. You can change your advertising consent in your device settings (Tracking on iOS, Ads on Android) and, in the EEA and UK, through the consent form. You can turn off usage analytics with the switch at the bottom of the in-app shop, and reminders in your device's notification settings. Contact us at [email protected] to exercise these rights.

10. Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy: Apple App Store, Google Play, Google AdMob, RevenueCat, PostHog and Sentry.

11. Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Updates will be posted in the App and on our website.
