1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how CodeRunner (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our App. CodeRunner is a mobile code editor that runs your code on a remote, sandboxed environment and returns the output. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

2. No Account Required

CodeRunner does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other directly identifying personal information in order to use the App.

3. Information We Collect

• Device Identifier: The App generates or reads a per-device identifier (a random value stored on your device, or the platform’s vendor/Android identifier). It is used only to enforce the free daily usage limit and to associate your subscription status with your device. It is not linked to your real-world identity.
• Code & Program Input: When you run code, the source code and any standard input (“stdin”) you provide are sent to our server so it can be executed and the result returned to you. This data is processed to produce output and is not used to profile you.
• Usage & Technical Data: Standard request data such as device type, operating system version, IP address, and timestamps may be processed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
• Subscription Status: If you purchase CodeRunner Pro, our subscription provider and the relevant app store report whether an active entitlement exists for your device identifier.

4. How We Use Information

5. Legal Basis for Processing

• Performance of a contract: To run the code you submit and provide the features you request.

6. Data Sharing

We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the App: the Apple App Store and Google Play (to process subscription payments), our subscription management provider (RevenueCat), and our self-hosted code-execution backend (which runs your code in an isolated sandbox). We do not sell or rent user data, and we do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

7. Important Note on Submitted Code

Because code and input you run are transmitted to our servers for execution, please do not include passwords, API keys, personal data, or other sensitive information in the code you run.

8. Security

We use standard security measures, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, to protect data in transit. No system is completely secure, but we make every reasonable effort to safeguard your information.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect or store data from minors. Contact us to request removal of such data.
